What's Your 80s Karaoke Song?

You Are "Love Shack"

If you were transported back to the 80s, you would enjoy anything and everything underground.

You love the alternative aspects of 80s culture, and you're a bit disappointed that they've been forgotten over time.

You'd be goth, punk, new wave, or a rapper. Just not a yuppie, a preppy, or a jock!

You would relish living in a time where identifying with a subculture actually meant something.

The Chakra Test

Your result for The Chakra Test...

The Lover

You have scored 100% Balance - Your dominant Chakra is the "Heart or Green Chakra"

The "Heart or Green Chakra" is where the energy for love, kindness and affection originates from. It is located at the center of the chest area. And this is the chakra which is most developed in you at this time.

When the Heart Chakra it is open, you find yourself as compassionate and friendly, and work towards harmonious relationships.

Quiz: Where Should You Go to College?

Online
Going to a brick-and-mortar college is so five minutes ago. For you, there's nothing smarter than taking online classes to get a real life degree. Makes sense right? You can still hold down a job (if you feel like it), it's usually a lot cheaper, and you can get your degree faster — things a real go-getter like you should appreciate.

Tech-savvy and smart, you've got too much going on to slow down, and you need a school that moves as quickly as you do. So what are you waiting for? Take a seat, log on, pick a school, and start learning. And the best part? You get to take classes in your sweatpants!

Quiz: What's Your Financial Forecast?

Promising
It looks like the financial weatherperson is predicting mostly sunny skies for you. Grounded and smart, you know a penny saved is a penny earned. But that doesn't mean you don't know how to enjoy life and splurge on something nice for yourself every once in a while.

You believe a little give-and-take is the key to long-term financial success. And this levelheaded attitude helps you maintain the delicate balance between spending now and saving for later. Keep up the good work!

Quiz: What's Your Career Fantasy?

Your career fantasy is Lots of Time Off
You’re not just working for the weekend, you’re working for the week off … and the next one … and the next one. Life is probably better when you’re taking it easy, and your ideal job would give you plenty of leisure time. Be honest, you’d rather the weekend be five days long, right? It isn’t as though you’re a total slacker, though. You just would most likely rather let the small stuff slide occasionally and conserve your energy for when you really need it on the job.

But there’s certainly nothing wrong with wanting to take a little time for yourself occasionally. A good work/life balance is something everyone deserves. You’ve got to recharge your batteries if you want to succeed. So relax — you’ve probably got it covered.

No One's Laughing At Tickle

We’ve received word that Monster has decided to lay off the 30-35 employees that work for subsidiary Tickle, a company that it acquired for about $94M in May 2004.

Tickle includes not only a tests and quizzes site that shares the same name but also Ringo, a photo and video-sharing site, and LoveHappens, an online dating site.

As part of the decision, Ringo and LoveHappens will be completely shut down while Tickle will be absorbed into Affinity Labs, a content verticals company recently acquired by Monster.

The Tickle site will change focus once absorbed by Affinity Labs, although just how is yet to be seen. All layoffs will be complete by the end of June; employees were told of the decision at an internal meeting yesterday.

Ringo and LoveHappens are now in the DeadPool.

Goodbye Tickle

Tickle Inc.
is a media company, providing self-discovery, and social networking services. Formerly known as Emode.com, Tickle was founded on the idea that personal insight and connections to others can be scientific, fun and profitable.

Tickle survived the dot-com bubble burst of 2000, became profitable in early 2002, was acquired by Monster Worldwide in May 2004 and is now part of the overall Monster network. In April 2008, it was announced that Tickle.com will be shut down at the end of June 2008 [1]. The site announced in December 2008 that they will be permanently shutting down on December 31, 2008. The site, as announced, was shut down on December 31, 2008.

In January 2009, Monster launched a new quiz website entitled TestQ, which focuses on career-related content and 'PhD quizzes'.

I will miss this site so much, I have partially checked out the 'replacement' and so far.. It's not up to par with how Tickle has been. I'm giving testQ a chance though, maybe in the following months...

The Cultural Identity Test

Your result for The Cultural Identity Test...

The Modern Thinker

67% Traditionalism, 70% Knowledge, 67% Diversity, 39% Contemporary and 33%

 Untraditionalism!

You Scored 39% Modern Thinker, Congratulations!

Hey there, Modern Thinker! At the forefront of your generation, you possess the uncanny ability to ride the waves of Untraditionalism that course through our fickle society and remain at the crest! Ever aware of the changing tides of politics and philosophy, you have your own niche and you stick to it.

Less idealistic and traditional than your contemporaries, you probably have a good idea of where you stand and what makes sense. And if you don't, it's ok, because it probably isn't that important anyways. Apathy can be a good thing sometimes. After all, are those vicissitudinous ideas the politicians shout all the time really that meaningful? They really just want your vote, and you aren't fooled by all the clever talk.

History probably isn't your strong suite, but don't worry, that's all in the past. You're a contemporary! You look to the future, not to what's behind you. Is Charlemagne really going to help you get that date tonight? You find other cultures interesting, but you most likely won't go out of your way to do anything about it. You know where you stand, and that's the bottom line.

You were scored as a Modern Thinker because you most consistently chose answers relating to contemporary ideas. Concepts like race, tradition, history and diversity don't appear to have all that great an attraction for you, which is just fine, because most of those things don't seem to affect your day to day life. If you can get along without worrying about the traditional mating headgear of the Papu Papu tribe of East Samoa, then that's just one less thing to worry about. Take a break and kick back, your favourite TV show is probably coming on soon.

Editors Note:

Although it's taken about twenty hours to complete (and if you calculate in all the years I've spent compiling this information for my own purposes a good deal longer), I'm very pleased with how this test has turned out, and even more so with the responses I've been getting from people. If you were wondering, I am a traditionalist, and knowing about my heritage and celebrating my customs is one of the most important aspects of my life. I've tried to be fair in creating a test where questions and answers account for all different backgrounds and beliefs, and from what I've heard so far, I didn't do half bad.

However, regardless of what score you received, and whether or not you had fun, the greatest compliment I've gotten from people is that this test has made them consider their own heritage more deeply, and want to find out more about where they came from. This wasn't a goal I had in mind when I created the test, but to hear that I've sparked some interest in a person's lineage, however small, is an incredibly gratifying experience.

Whatever your score, whatever your ideas on the issues I've raised here, I want to sincerely thank you for spending the time to take my test, and hope that you've enjoyed it.

I also have a ton of resources for learning about your own history, and I'd be happy to share them with anyone who was interested.

Viel Glück und Gott Geschwindigkeit,

- Errantblue
